The MYC has started sign ups for this years trip to Washington DC for Policy Conference. There are many improvements planned from last years trip that will be sure to excite everyone. You can now register online. Community members over the age of 36, will be placed on the waiting list in order to allow the youth to purchase available tickets first. Elections – Tuesday, November 3, 2016

The Central Board and the Public Affairs Committee urge the registered community members to vote in this Tuesday November 3rd, election for the North Hempstead Town Supervisor, North Hempstead Town Councilwoman, Nassau County District Attorney, Nassau County Legislature and other judges that are to be voted on.  It is our civic duty and privilege to vote in this election that will show the Community’s voting power. The local polling stations are open from 6 am to 9 pm. Kings Point residents vote at the JFK school and Great Neck residents vote at the Great Neck House.  If not sure of your Polling Location, please call the board of elections at (516) 571-8683 with your home address and they will provide the correct polling location.  For more information please reach out to Jonny Hazghiyan, Mehran Hakimian or Allen.

Harav Shelomo Amar: Special Guest of our Community, Next Shabbat Nov 6-7

The Chief Rabbi of Jerusalem, Harav Shelomo Amar, will be the personal guest of Harav Eliyahoo Ben Haim next Shabbat, Parashat Chayei Sarah. Prior to becoming Chief Rabbi Of Jerusalem, Harav Amar served for ten years as Chief Rabbi of the State of Israel. Harav Amar will join Harav Ben Haim at  our community’s minyanim as well as at community and private events which have been organized for this special occasion. Etrog and Lulav Sale at Our Synagogues

There will be an Etrog & Lulav Sale at Shaare Shalom on: Friday, September 25 from 8:00am – 4:00pm. Sunday, September 27 from 9:00am – to 4:00pm (or until sold out).

4th Annual Mashadi Picnic Day

Mashadi Senior Club in conjunction with the Mashadi Sisterhood present the 4th annual Mashadi Picnic Day!  Wednesday August 12th, 2015 on 10:00am-4:00pm.  North Heampstead Beach Park (formerly Bar Beach), 175 West Shore Road, Port Washington, NY 11050.  Music, Entertainment, Lunch and Fun!  Free of charge for all ladies and gentlemen.  Transportation is available.  Buses leave 54 Steamboat Rd. at 9:30am. Congratulations to new Mayor Dr. Pedram Bral

The Public Affairs Committee of UMJCA would like to congratulate Dr. Pedram Bral on his historic election being the first Iranian American Mayor elected in the State of New York with an overwhelming majority. Equally we would like to congratulate our own Houshang Nematzadeh for being re-elected as a trustee of the Village of Kings Point.
We would like to wish the new Mayor, Dr. Bral and his new trustees, Anne Mendelson and Raymond Plakstis Jr. and all the newly elected officials in all of the Villages a successful term in office. The community also wants to recognize and thank the outgoing mayor Ralph Kreitzman and trustees Mitch Beckerman and Jeff Bass for years of public service, dedication and service to the Great Neck community.
Mayor Bral will be a guest of our community this Shabbat at Shaare Shalom, 54 Steamboat Road.  He will speak at 10:15am before taking out the Torah.

11th Annual Mashadi Open Tennis Tournament

The summer tournament for community members –  Singles & Doubles

Singles: If we have enough people signing up, there will be two tournaments. Please indicate if you’d like to be in the over 35’s or under. You can choose regardless of your age! Ages 16 and up (please specify singles, or doubles, or both) Also: if we have enough sign ups we will also organize a Women’s Tournaments! Please let us know if you are interested.  Cost: FREE
