“PARENTS, LET’S TALK ABOUT OUR KIDS GETTING MARRIED”

Dear concerned parents, The marriage issue is reaching a crisis proportion in the Jewish community everywhere and the problem has reached the Mashadi Jewish community as well. Today, based on the analysis done by the marriage committee of the UMJCA there are 630 single Mashadis of prime marrying age, girls 21 to 35 and boys 25 to 40.   Every year 80 to 100 young Mashadis reach marrying each, while our marriage rate has dropped to only 20 a year and half of those nowadays are not with Mashadis. That means that each year another 50-70 Mashadis are getting added to the unmarried list. As a first step in attempting to help the situation, the Marriage Committee is conducting Town Hall meetings for the Parents in an open forum, so that the subject and possible solutions can be discussed. The First Marriage Forum for Parents will be held on Monday May 13th, 2013 at 8:30 PM at Shaare Shalom Synagogue. We urge all concerned parents to attend this meeting and contribute to the discussion.
